Compliance Certificate/Labels
OSAI-UK Year 2000 Compliance Certificate
OSAI-UK Ltd. will issue a Year 2000 Compliance Certificate to any customer requiring it for inclusion in a year 2000 project file. The certificate is dedicated to individual specific OSAI CNC control units or products.
To facilitate issue of a certificate, OSAI-UK Ltd. will require an application in writing, stating the type, serial number and revision level of the product. Where OSAI-UK Ltd. are commissioned by a customer to visit a site to assess and confirm year 2000 compliance, certificates will be issued for all controls seen during the visit.
A sample certificate is shown below - this is not valid unless signed and dated by an OSAI-UK employee, or someone authorised by OSAI.

Where relevant, Year 2000 software and / or firmware
updates have been installed by OSAI engineers, or as directed by the company. The product
has been tested to ascertain Year 2000 compliance to BSI Standard PD 2000:1998,
i.e. it obeys the 4 basic rules laid down by the standard. These rules are as follows :-

algorithms or inferencing rules. |
The century value for a date must be
explicitly understood by means of a conventional 2-digit century,
by an algorithm (a number denoting the century it belongs in), or
inferenced according to the value of the year. |

Year 2000 must be recognised as a leap
year. |
It must show 29 days in February and
satisfy all other leap year criteria. |
Please note: This certificate only applies to the CNC products manufactured and sold by OSAI.
OSAI sell numerical control systems to OEMs who install the product as part of a larger machine tool, robot or other application. OEMs may introduce features or functions that may be affected by date change anomalies. End users should contact the Original Equipment Manufacturer to confirm that the specification for the overall installation in which this CNC is installed is year 2000 compliant. This is particularly important where the OEM the end user, or any other third party has specially developed and installed software for this application whether prior to, during, or subsequent to commissioning of the system.
Modifications or service activity done by the customer or by a 3rd party subsequent to the date of this certificate may invalidate Year 2000 compliance. In such cases re-validation should where necessary be requested.
This certificate is only valid if signed and dated by an
OSAI employee, or someone authorised by OSAI.
