Please note the following rates, terms and conditions
are shown as a guide. Invoices for services will be submitted in line
with the prices and terms in the version of the service tariff congruent
with the date of the customer's purchase order.
Service Labour at Hourly Rates
Effective from 1 January 2006 and valid for 12 months or
until superceded.

Notes:
• Travel and site time is calculated and invoiced in 5 minute
increments.
• Meal / Rest breaks are deducted from the times logged
on the visit report prior to invoicing.
• Travel time and mileage are calculated with respect to
the engineer’s start and finish locations. In the majority
of cases the start location will be the engineer’s home
base.
• Where an engineer does 2 or more jobs in 1 work session
travel time and mileage is split between the relevant customers.

The above price includes the following items expended between the hours
of 08:00hrs and 18:00hrs:-
- All travel time
- All time on site
- Road travel expenses (see 7. below)
- Engineers sundry expenses (meals, fares etc.)
The above price does not include :-
- Premium rate labour worked after 18:00hrs, ( if requested
by the customer).
- Subsistence expenses, ( hotel & meals), if the engineer
is requested to stay overnight by the customer.
- Air or ferry fares for long distance locations.
Materials
Chargeable spare parts used on service interventions will be invoiced
at the prevailing service exchange list price where the original faulty
unit is repairable. Consumable parts and replacements for parts beyond
economical repair will be charged at the prevailing new sale price.
The cost of package, transportation & insurance for spare parts dispatched
to customer sites for service interventions will be charged to the customer.
Faulty / exchanged parts or unused spare parts that are not removed from
site at the time of the service intervention must be returned to OSAI
UK Ltd. at the customer’s cost.
Minimum Billing
The minimum call out charge for a field service intervention is 4
(four) hours site time at the specified rate, plus mileage, expenses,
parts used & parts transportation.
Cancelled or Aborted Call Outs
All accrued site and travel time, plus mileage, expenses, parts used
& parts transportation; or the minimum billing charge, (whichever
is the greater), will be charged if a scheduled service visit is cancelled
or aborted at the request of the customer.
Additional Services / Fixed Price Quotations
Specific quotations will be submitted on request for fixed rate or special
services such as :-
- Application Engineering Projects
- Training Courses
- Commissioning / Start Up
- Overseas Service Visits
Contracts
Parts Only and Parts & labour maintenance contracts are available and
can be quoted on request.
Tax
All above prices do not include value added tax.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF FIELD SERVICES:
- All services supplied against customer purchase orders,
or under the terms of OSAI contract or warranty agreements are subject
to OSAI UK Ltd. Standard Terms & Conditions.
- Services at customer sites will be undertaken by professional
engineers employed or sanctioned by OSAI UK Ltd. who are trained and
experienced on the products specified in the service request.
- Repairs carried out in the field will be to the quality
standards specified in the OSAI Company Quality Procedure.
- Spare parts used to replace faulty parts will be either
new product, or repaired parts fully tested and guaranteed functional
and fit for their purpose. Repaired parts and service exchange parts
are warranted for six (6) months from date of installation. Parts that
fail within their warranty period will be repaired or replaced free
of charge at OSAI discretion. All parts warranties are ex-works.
- If OSAI labour is required to diagnose and / or replace
parts that fail within the warranty period, such labour is chargeable
to the customer at prevailing OSAI service rates.
- Materials used on service interventions remain the property
of OSAI up to the time the intervention is invoiced and the invoice
is paid in full, at which time such parts become the customer’s
property. Faulty parts replaced on service interventions become the
property of OSAI.
- OSAI employees working at customer’s sites will
ensure that their actions or omissions in no way compromise the Health
& Safety of themselves or any other person. The customer’s
health & safety policies and procedures, and OSAI’s health
& safety policies and procedures will be observed at all times.
If the customer’s Health & Safety policies and procedures
are deemed to be inadequate for any reason, service interventions may
be aborted or terminated.
- OSAI engineers may require labour assistance, with lifting
equipment, to work on mechanical assemblies such as spindle drives &
motors, or technical assistance to work on 3rd party products. If this
assistance is unavailable or is withheld, service interventions may
be aborted or terminated.
- OSAI UK Ltd. will respond to requests for field service
at the earliest opportunity, subject to the prevailing work schedules.
Advised times and dates for attendance at customer sites are given on
a “best endeavour” basis. Please Note: It may be necessary
to re-schedule routine service visits in order that OSAI can honour
its obligation to provide priority service to contract customers.
EXCEPTIONS:
- Original replaced parts that are found to be damaged
or faulty beyond economical repair, will result in the relevant service
exchange parts being charged at the full replacement price, if replacement
parts are available. Where replacement parts are unavailable, e.g. obsolete
product, service exchange parts may be recalled.
- Labour and / or parts warranty may be invalidated, or
additional charges levied if :-
- Malfunction or damage has been caused by fire, flood,
lightening, the application of incorrect voltages, or if the anomaly
is the result of operator error, inappropriate maintenance or inappropriate
service.
- Faults are caused by equipment not supplied by OSAI,
including inappropriate or dysfunctional firmware or software installed
by the customer or any third party
- There is evidence if inappropriate maintenance or
service by the customer or any third party
- Service interventions that are terminated or aborted
under the conditions described in 7. or 8. above are chargeable to the
customer.
- OSAI-UK Ltd. will not be held responsible if engineers
are delayed in, or prevented from providing scheduled services, due
to circumstances beyond OSAI-UK Ltd’s control.
