Digital Spindle Control (DSC)
The family of DSC (Digital Spindle Control) drives represents technologically advanced products, developed for industrial applications, in particular for spindle applications.
The converter is of the modular type with up to 18 kW of motor power and consists of the following modules:
- PSU 624/625, Basic Supply Unit, power supply with mains regeneration
- DSM 621/624, Servo Drive Unit, drive modules for a single motor
- DSV 6, Controller drawer for a single motor
In this system, a single power supply unit (PSU) is connected to more than one drive module (DSM), and each drive module must be equipped with a removable controller drawer (DSV 6). The PSU is regulated and supplied by a 400 V three-phase network, with mains regeneration. The drive modules (DSM) are available in various power/current sizes.
The controller drawer is the same as the one used in the axis converter, but is customized during installation via software, for spindle applications. For powers of over 18 kW, the converter is monolithic, including the power supply and drive parts, and must be equipped with a controller drawer (DSV 6):
The motors used are the asynchronous ones in the DA series, equipped with an encoder, and arial fan, and developing a power of between 1.8 kW and 19.5 kW. The DA F 133 B motor is equipped with a radial fan and develops 22 kW.
