OSAI expands CNC controller family

OSAI-UK announces a significant addition to its 10-Series range of CNC controllers - the model 10/110, which is a dedicated controller for three axes and one spindle drive.

This is aimed at the very broad centre of the CNC controller market. The 10/110 has a wealth of features covering the requirements of many three axis routers, lathes, grinders and so on, in common use across a wide range of industries from woodworking and general engineering in the aerospace and automotive industries to glass, stone cutting and plastics.

The most innovative feature of the 10/110 is its compact size - the result of considerable research and development by Osai, producing a highly integrated package that is no bigger than a normal operator panel alone.

Into this slim package, Osai have packed a powerful controller, with 72 local I/O for machine control, a 10.4" colour display and operator console. Due to its size and because it is an integrated module, it takes up less room in a control cabinet and requires much less wiring time, both of which can be major cost-savers to the OEM.

Yet there is no compromise on its performance, with the 10/110 retaining all of the innovative features common to all of the 10-Series range that is based on standard PC architecture, with compatibility throughout the 10/Series range to provide easy commissioning and programming. A powerful DLL library allows the development of personalised graphics and shop management data -systems for tailor-made ease of set-up and user-friendly operation.

The new 10/110 is also available with additional distributed I/O modules, connected by means of high-speed optical fibre and an Ethernet communication channel for bi-directional Mini-DNC, with integrated standard client-server functionality. Program and data transfer between the CNC and network-connected PC's, as well as trouble-shooting and monitoring of machine functionality, is thus greatly simplified.
