Cutting edge CNC for lathes

The latest 10-Series product from OSAI-UK is designed specifically for the two-axis control of lathes. The 10/510 T is a state-of-the-art product for the control of lathes with two axes, plus spindle control co-ordinated with the X and Z axes.

Superseding the 8601T controller, the 10/510T is completely compatible with the previous product, with programming provided by the use of direct geometry and dedicated canned cycles. Yet the new product has the capability of reducing block execution times by 10 times, allowing for a superior finish and eliminating further processing.

The most immediate visual difference with the 10/510T is the stylish and ergonomically-designed operator panel, with clear TFT colour display.

This budget-priced controller has an identical interface between the machine tool and the NC and takes the same part programs and application software as before. The use of permanent flash-memory allows quick and easy storage of the logic, optimising the machine start-up and reducing maintenance downtimes.

With the 10/510T, two RS232 serial communication lines are available. Using these lines with the MINI_DNC utility, part-programs and configuration data can be transferred between the CNC and a personal computer.

By using a high-speed fibre-optic connection, it is possible to connect various optional devices to the numerical control eg. digital and analogue I/O modules, operator consoles and an electronic hand-wheel.
