10/Series Comes Of Age The Osai 10/Series is now one of the world’s leading CNC package deals - starting with highly competitive 3-axis units, taking in general-purpose motion controllers for robots etc, specialist CNC for lathes, integrated PC MMI, Ethernet and Interbus communications and topping out with sophisticated controllers with performances to match. The range is equally applicable to metalworking, wood-working, glass-working and marble-cutting as well as specialised high-speed composite and metal cutting machines. Based on standard PC architecture, with Windows compatibility, the 10/Series is designed to provide easy commissioning and programming. A powerful DLL library allows the development of personalised graphics and shop management data-systems for ease of set-up and user-friendly operation. Specifying the Osai 10/Series gives users greater machine versatility and much better machine utilisation. 10/110The recently introduced 10/110 is a dedicated controller for 3-axes and spindle drive. Aimed at the very broad centre of the CNC controller market, the 10/110 has a wealth of features covering the requirements of most 3-axis routers, lathes and grinders. The most innovative feature of the 10/110 is its compact size - the result of considerable research and development by Osai, producing a highly integrated package that is no bigger than a normal operator panel. 10/510Available in 3, 4 and 6-axis versions, it can handle three independent processes. Special versions of this are available to directly replace the 8600T lathe control and 8600GP motion control. 10/GPThe 10/GP General Purpose motion controller is based on the same hardware and addresses a wide range of automation and special-purpose machine applications such as assembly automation, materials handling, wire and pipe-bending and cutting, special glass, metal and wood-working machines, robotics and measuring machines. 10/585 & 10/565Higher speed cutting, greater accuracy and improved productivity. Osai's 10/585 and 10/565 models are both four times faster than other models in the range, achieved by the introduction of the latest microprocessors. Both models have been able to eliminate hardware such as special Ethernet, service or PLC cards and feature a higher integration of components into fewer electronic boards. The controllers use polynomial interpolation algorithms for high-speed machining, resulting in both productivity and quality improvements. This new generation of Osai controllers can achieve speeds and finish that were inconceivable just a short time ago, particularly when the controllers are used in conjunction with Osai DAC and DSC drives and brushless motors, using the SERCOS digital linking. InterbusThe standard INTERBUS interface has now been embedded into the 10/Series CNC, together with modular I/O devices, making it possible to use readily available industry-standard devices to assist with both installation and commissioning. EthernetThe high speed Ethernet data link between 10/Series and a PC allows the transfer of programs and information at 10Mbaud/sec. The factory network can be used to provide information to all departments, such as production engineering and maintenance, to keep the machine running more efficiently. |
