OS3 Drives

OS3 Drives are designed to be connected directly to the three phase power supply. The B and C module sizes required a nominal 400VAC 3 phase supply. The A module size can accept a voltage range between 380 and 480VAC 3 phase supply 50 - 60 Hz.
This wide range of acceptable voltage supply means that no transformer would normally be required.
The drive uses a low voltage 24VDC supply to run the electronics side of each module. This means that the main motive power can be controlled via the emergency stop circuit to ensure all safety regulations are adequatley met.
During the braking phase, any stored energy is dispersed through an internal braking resistor mounted inside the drive module. Where extremely intense work cycles are neede it is possible to connect an external or parallel resistor of much higher wattage. This prevents excessive heat being generated within the drive module.
Motors of different technologies can be managed: brushless with permanent magnets, asyncronus motors, reluctance variable motors. The standard transducer is SinCos encoder. Each drive module incorporates programmable I/O which increases the drive's flexibility.
OS3 is available in 6 different power sizes starting form a minimum of 3.5A of nominal current (2.5W) to reach 30A (21kW).
Tuning Software for OS3
The OSwire bus means that each device can be auto-recognised. The standard CNC HMI environment includes all the necessary tools to configure, setup and adjust the devices connected. The HMI software is designed to run on the Windows XP (c) operating system. With this instrument it is possible to visualise the drive's and motor's data, analyse the drive's status through diagnostic pages.
Either with automatic or manual tuning it is possible to adapt the gain of the loops to control the load. With the introduction of digital filters it is also possible to compensate the mechanical resonance.
For motors that have a brake it is possible to regulate the intervention time. To analyse the details of the machine behaviour a configurable oscilloscope is available.
